BRC Race Series 2025 GR8 Dundrum Run

The latest event in our race series took us to one of Northern Ireland’s most scenic and popular races — the 14th Annual GR8 Dundrum Run. Organised by Murlough AC in association with the National Trust, the event once again drew a fantastic turnout and offered runners the choice between two distances: 8.4 miles and 3.5 miles, both starting from Dundrum Main Street.

The 8.4-mile route took runners on a breath-taking journey through Murlough Nature Reserve, combining road, beach, and boardwalk sections with stunning views where “the Mountains of Mourne sweep down to the sea.” The shorter 3.5-mile route remained on road, offering a fast and enjoyable challenge.

Conditions on the morning were perfect for running – cool, dry, and, notably, no wind – a welcome relief for those tackling the exposed beach section of the longer race.

8.4 Mile Race
BRC had a strong showing with eleven runners taking on the longer course. Top finisher Liz Robinson led the club home in an impressive 1:01:52, closely followed by Adam Fullerton-Healey and Mark Rocks.
A brilliant collective effort across the team on a challenging and varied route.

3.5 Mile Race
Seven BRC runners lined up for the shorter road race, with standout performances all round — and a fantastic win for Chris Murphy, who took 1st place overall in 20:21. Congratulations Chris on a superb performance!

It was another memorable day for the club at the GR8 Dundrum Run — perfect weather, great camaraderie, and some outstanding individual performances. Well done to all our runners who represented BRC with pride on one of the most picturesque courses in Northern Ireland.
