BRC 2026 Race Series 3rd Event

The third event in the 2026 BRC Race Series brought a St. Patrick’s weekend double, with members choosing between two 10Ks—one hilly challenge and one right on our doorstep.

Jimmy’s 10k:

First up on Sunday, Fabrice and Aaron made the trip to Downpatrick for Jimmy’s 10K starting off at the leisure centre and finishing past it at the club. Never an easy one, the tough two-loop hilly course didn’t hold them back, with both putting in strong runs on a route that definitely keeps you honest.

Craic 10k:

Then it was all about home turf on St. Patrick’s Day at the SPAR Craic 10K—and what a turnout we had. Thirteen BRC runners took to the Belfast streets, soaking up the atmosphere and flying the club colours.

Leading the charge was Kevin, with Fabrice (clearly not satisfied with just one race in the weekend!) hot on his heels, followed closely by Paul. Aidan and Mark kept things moving at the front, while there were great performances throughout the field.

Jill and Aobhin led the way for the women with strong runs, and it was great to see solid efforts from David, Donna, and Orla. Helen, Nicola, Justine, and Paul McC rounded things off, completing a brilliant team showing.

Two races, great numbers, and plenty of strong performances—it’s safe to say Race 3 was another big success for the club. On to the next one!

Well done everyone running in events this week and to those who went all the way to the walled city for the 10 miler a few days ago and some even doing today’s craic 10k too, keep on going you doing great 😁
